Terms of Service
Last updated September 2026
These terms cover your use of Trial Run. By creating an account you agree to them.
What Trial Run does
Trial Run lets you create a role, define screening questions, and collect video answers, written responses and work samples from candidates through a link you share. We organise what candidates send you. We do not source candidates, screen them for you, or make hiring decisions.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to your organization. Everyone you invite can see every candidate in it.
Publishing and payment
Creating a role, configuring it and testing the candidate experience is free. Publishing a role makes its application link public for 60 days, after which it stops accepting new applications — you keep access to everything already collected. During our beta, publishing is free and no payment is required. If that changes we will say so clearly before charging anyone.
How you must treat candidates
Candidates are giving you their time and, in a video, their likeness. You agree to:
- use submissions only to evaluate people for the role they applied to;
- not share a candidate’s video, files or details outside your hiring team without their permission;
- not use submissions to train machine learning models;
- comply with the employment, discrimination and privacy laws that apply to you.
You are the employer in this relationship. Hiring decisions, and their legal consequences, are yours.
Content and ownership
Candidates keep ownership of what they submit. You get access to review it for the role in question. We store it on your behalf and delete it 6 months after submission, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Trial Run to collect information you have no legitimate hiring reason to collect, to post roles that don’t exist, or to attack, overload or reverse engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability and liability
Trial Run is provided as-is during our beta. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months.
Ending things
You can stop using Trial Run at any time and ask us to delete your organization and its data. We may end an account that breaches these terms.
